You don’t need to join or RSVP anywhere, just show up!
You don’t need to stay the entire time – just show up!1701 S Virginia Dare Trl, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina 27948This is an open house meeting hosted by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). This meeting is an invitation to submit comments on the 2017-2022 offshore leasing program. BOEM is getting ready to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to examine the direct, indirect and cumulative impacts of oil and gas activities off the N.C. coast. Offshore areas are parceled into “blocks” that are categorized and sold to oil and gas companies. Your comments influence what is evaluated in the EIS, and whether or not sections of our offshore waters may ultimately be included in BOEM’s 2017-2022 leasing program.
We have launched a marketing campaign to have a wider reach, influence more people to get involved, and to let the decision makers know how we feel.
We are specifically seeking funding for two billboards currently in the works that will be located on the two major highways leading to and from the Outer Banks, NC, I-64 going west to Raleigh and US 158 going north to Virginia.
We have enough to cover a few months, but this fight could last a year or two, or longer! We need your help!
Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
Even a mere $1 ONE DOLLAR donation will keep the campaign in the “Trending/Environment” section on IndieGoGo – which will hopefully allow us to be seen by a larger donor and bring in much more. We know the Outer Banks, and we know y’all can pull together on this and make it happen. Please – even a small donation will truly help!
Look! We’re TRENDING on IndieGoGo – keep it up!Join Not the Answer NC with an “in your face” message including an oil rig float. ALL are welcome!!! We need kids to ride on the float AND we need walkers (our goal is 50 people) behind the float to carry posters and banners. Our goal is to educate and advertise the BOEM hearing date which is the day after the parade. Please wear a BLUE shirt.
Also, if you see us along the way…jump on in and walk with us, the more the merrier!
Wanna make the Raleigh news? Come walk against off shore oil drilling in the St. Pattys Day Parade. Lets make it a large showing!
We’re asking all bypass and beach road businesses to tell The Federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management that we appreciate the economy a clean beach provides.
Here’s the plan for the next Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) meeting:

Herman over at Kitty Hawk Kayaks & Surf School has graciously donated their van for us to caravan down in. We have approximately 14 seats between that and a few others who have offered to drive. If you would like to ride, PLEASE make sure you respond in the Facebook event page so we know who to expect.
The van will leave the Southern Shores Marketplace at exactly 1pm so meet there. We would love to have at least 20 folks show up from the Outer Banks.
This is the time to speak your mind people!
